Since I was not sure of the procedure involved in reporting the accident to my Insurance company (NTUC Income in this case), I went to NTUC Income's website(http://203.125.136.181/callcentre/chat.htm) to ask for help.

Below is the contents of the conversation:

Tan : the accident is not my fault, and I need a vehicle.
Ethika : reason is commercial vehicle no car will be provided.
Tan : i just need a commercial vehicle for replacement
Ethika : only for private car will be available sir, so sorry about it
Tan : if i rent a commercial outside, can i claim against the other party?
Ethika : yes,this is you can claim from the other party
Tan : but how do i go abt doing it? Wat are the procedures?
Ethika : but the first procedure i suggest to make a report first thing tomorrow sir.
Tan : a report to idac? then after that?
Ethika : if you wish to claim the other party IDAC will give you a list of workshop to help you do the other party claiming.
Ethika : IDAC will submit the reporting to Income claim
Tan : how long does this usually take
Ethika : it depends on the damage, IDAC will be able to give an estimate
Tan : then i will have to leave my vehicle there at idac tmr?
Ethika : no need if the vehicle still can be driven.
Tan : meaning after idac inspect my damages, they will give me a list of workshop to go, then i have to proceed to any of the workshop given?
Ethika : yes..correct

Tan : but wat abt the claiming against the other party?
Ethika : workshop will help you to do the claiming
Tan : my problem now is not about the repairing, but the lost of transport
Ethika : the lost of transport normally receipt or rental prove for claiming the other party
Tan : meaning i have to fork out the money to rent a car, then claim against the other party after everything is settled?
